DIY Easy Sewing Projects for Scrap Fabrics
This blog is dedicated to those sewing enthusiasts who are having a stash of fabric scraps hoping to turn them into something beautiful one day. I have shown you 3 easy DIY projects and to put your scrap fabrics in use. The highlight of this sewing project is each item will take only 10 minutes to complete. Velcro Pouch, Elastic Bookmark and Square Bookmarks are some cool projects for todays post. Alternatively, you can even sew this pouch from your old clothes. The size and can be adjusted to our needs. Materials & Measurements: Main Fabric – 1 Piece - 17 inches in Length * 7 inches in Width Lining Fabric -1 Piece - 17 inches in Length * 7 inches in Width Interfacing - 1 Piece - 17 inches in Length * 7 inches in Width Velcro – cut 4inches, when the bag is finished it should be ½ inch away from the seam on each side.
DIY FABRIC BOOKMARK
All you need is a fabric Squares – 5inch * 5 inch pieces and interfacing to add stability to your bookmark. Not to mention is super quick to complete it!
Materials & Measurements:
Fabric Squares – 3 pieces - 5 inch * 5 inch
Your fabric can be a mix of colours or just use the available scraps.
Interfacing - 2 pieces - 5 inch * 5 inch
Note: For interfacing I use the cloth bag / gift bags available at home. Interfacing is used to give extra stability to our bookmark and to protect the pages of the book.
Please feel free to experiment with it, if you have different types available at home.
Elastic Bookmark Measure your notebook/diary and take the fabric strip height equal to your notebook height. And add an inch extra to your elastic measurement. Materials & Measurements: Fabric Strips – 2 Pieces 2.5 inches width * 8 inches length Pocket –1 Piece 2.5 inches width * 10 inches length Elastic – 1 Piece 10 inch
